Lightweight, high-strength, smooth crown helmets intended for use where workers may need a helmet with elevated temperature capability. The injection-molded, rivetless shell of glass-reinforced nylon has a beaded edge for improved rigidity. Slots in the cap allow for mounting hearing protection muffs, welding shields and faceshields. Not designed to protect against lateral blows from the front, side or rear. MSA's Vanguard Type II protective helmets are so designed and must be used if lateral protection is desired

Thermalgard® Slotted Caps meet all applicable requirements for a Type I (top impact) helmet as outlined in ANSI/ISEA Z89.1-2009 (Class G) and CSA Z94.1-2005 (Class G).
Thermalgard Caps also meet the ANSI/ISEA Z89.1-2009 voluntary standard for reverse donning.
WARNING: Do not mix suspension and helmet sizes. Make sure the sizes match (i.e., standard-size suspension with standard-size helmet). Use only MSA suspensions on an MSA helmet. Failure to comply with the above will reduce the energy-absorbing ability of the protective helmet, which can result in serious injury or death.
